Eden's 4 month stats and her first goose egg

We had Eden's 4 month appointment on Tuesday and she is right on track! The doctor did discover an ear infection (which could explain the zombie like state I have been in for the past week *yawns*...she won't sleep!), but otherwise she was just perfect!

She was

14 lbs. 5 oz. - 75%
24 1/2 inches - 80%

Our big girl!

Conversely, the boys were

Jacob - 17 lbs. 8 oz. & 25 1/4 inches
Parker - 15 lbs. 9 oz. & 26 1/2 inches

She is definitely smaller than they were (which she should be), but still a big girl per the charts. Ana has lovingly coined the name "fatty Patty" for her. She has a HUGE belly (even the doctor commented) and rolls everywhere. And her 'jowls'.....my gosh! They hang down over her collar practically! But all these things are what makes her so darn cute and squeezable. I just want to eat her!

Onto more eventful things; Eden had a first the other night. No she didn't say my name or sit up unassisted. It wasn't her first spoon feed or her first night in her crib either (Yes she is still in a bassinet by our bed. Yes I know she is too big for that. I am in denial and like to pretend she is still a newborn. I am not ready for her to grow up...WAHH!) Anyhow, those wonderful 'firsts' to write in the baby book....nope. They haven't occurred yet. But this little devil...

gave her her first goose egg! He looks innocent enough, right? All curled up in Edens bouncy seat like a little angel. Don't let him fool you. He is Dennis the Menace in disguise. Eden was innocently laying under her activity mat cooing and batting at toys...like so.

Apparently Parker decided that she looked bored and needed something else to play with. He picked up the nearest thing, which happened to be the top to the bouncy seat. The offending toy is pictured below.

Don't think that I placed it randomly either. It is placed exactly where it landed when he decided to toss it to her. Of course, Edens catching skills aren't up to par yet, so it landed on her forehead. Hence the giving of the first goose egg. Don't be fooled by the looks of the thing either...it is filled with D batteries and is heavy as all get out. Poor thing! I didn't have the heart to take a picture of the goose egg when it happened, because I was too busy comforting and punishing.

So there you have it. Maybe not the first that you were thinking....but a first nonetheless! Eden is going to be tough as nails when she gets older. I'm calling it now!!

Poor babies - both of them. Parker "looks" like an angel in Eden's seat and bet Eden didn't even cry! With "three", you'll have many, many more accidents. Glad it was only a goose egg and nothing more serious. See ya'll in less than three weeks - YEAH!
