Here's a trick that Mama Lou taught Eden when she was here. One day Ebby, Kaley, Jacob, Parker and I went to Six Flags and Mama Lou stayed here and watched Eden. She said they worked on "where's your nose?" all day....and she ended up teaching her a new trick! She's so smart. ;)

20/52
Here it is! Photo week 20. Are we already 20 weeks into 2009? WOW. I'm not sure what it is that I like about this picture seeing as how she isn't even looking into the camera. I think it's that I knew she was looking at her brothers!

And one more video...
Eden and her new trick. Teeth grinding! *shivers* I wish she wouldn't do that, I hate the sound and I don't want her to make it a habit. It will mess up her pretty new teeth! (turn up the volume and you can hear it)
American Idol dish
Paula chose a crunk song for him to sing (not very fair actually) and the song he chose was catered to an old grandma. (no offense Mama Lou!! But I'm not talking about your kind of 'old'. ;)) It was something that you'd hear at a nursing home dance, not what the young people want to hear on the radio!! I think I even nodded off a few times.
Kris's 'Heartless' on Tuesday night was the BOMB. I was all by myself watching, smiling with my mouth open. I couldn't believe what I was hearing! It was so good. I voted for Kris and Adam and I am glad they are in the top 2. They both totally deserve it. I think things would have been different if Danny's song choices had been more current, but they weren't...and that's how the cookie crumbles. Sorry Danny!
And before this week, my favorites would have gone in this order.
1. Danny
2. Kris
3. Adam
But after watching last night, I am on Team Adam. I'm not sure why, as I didn't even really like him much at all most of the season. His version of 'Tracks of my Tears' was the best song sung all season by anyone, and I loved that...but I just didn't love him. I'm not sure what changed last night..maybe it was seeing him at home? Not sure. But he grew on me. GO ADAM!! (And btw...he has it in the bag...no way Kris can beat him. Sorry Kris! That would have been one good thing if Danny would have gotten through...it would have been a close call. Now? Notsomuch.)
So, there's my AI dish for the week. Comments? Opinions?

Spinach and Broccoli and Mushrooms, oh my!
Eden loves dinnertime. She has yet to turn down any food whatsoever! Tonight she had broccoli, spinach, mushrooms and whole wheat pasta with a tiny bit of feta cheese mixed in. She loved it!! Homegirl can grub!
So, I thought it was only fitting for the week 19 picture. :)
Mothers Day
I didn't get a chance to blog like I would have liked to yesterday. I'm so sorry! I wanted to give a shout out to all the Mothers out there......especially my own. She is beautiful, kind, giving, fun, and my best friend in the world! Thanks mom for being such an amazing Mother to me and such a wonderful Grandmother to my children. You have stolen their hearts in a major way.
I love you!!
And to Mama Lou and Mimi...2 other Mothers who play an important role in my life, I love you too and thank you. I am so lucky!
My Mothers Day was wonderful. I woke up to coffee and eggs benedict. (I was very impressed with the eggs benedict. But that's for K is for Kitchen, not here! :)) I got to go to the mall ALONE and return a few things. I got a pedicure. Mike got me a kick ass gift (which he totally didn't need to do)...which was a little 'Flip' handheld video camera. It was a great day and I really did get to reflect on how lucky I am to be able to celebrate this day. All because of these little munchkins that I love so very much!
We had a very busy weekend. We had some friends over Friday night for dinner and drinks. Saturday we did it all over again at another friends house. The kids and us both were EXHAUSTED but had a really great time. No baseball games this week and not much else going on. I start with a personal trainer today with should be fun. NOT! I CANNOT get this baby weight off and it is driving me crazy. And we all know that after a year you cant call it baby weight. I am getting close to that point so my healthy eating starts today. You will notice healthier recipes appearing on K is for Kitchen soon!

Biking success!
In other news....guess who else learned to ride today? FIRST TRY! The first time we tried, I held on to the back for about 5 seconds and then let go. He took off and rode down the street. This video was his second or third time. He is two years old and riding a bike! granted, he will be 3 next month....but still. AMAZING!
The best entertainment ever....

Blogging lull
This weekend was nice and SLOW. No games, no babysitters, no plans. It was the first time in I can't remember when. Friday night we went to one of our friends (and Jacobs buddy's) baseball game. Saturday we just milled around the house, watched the rain and relaxed. Sunday we decided to try to teach Jacob for the 100th time to ride his bike.
Oh LAAAAAAAWD. It was miserable. My blood pressure was through the roof and I was NOT amused. Every time we let go of the back, he stops pedaling altogether and falls to the side. Seriously, c'mon dude. You are almost 6. PEDAL THE DARN BIKE!! We have been trying to teach him for over a year and he just won't pedal. He doesn't even try. At all. It is soooo frustrating.
We had been to church that morning and I was wearing a dress. I was running behind the bike, sweating, with my dress flying up and my boobs releasing out the top. There were two cars that I can think of that I KNOW got quite the show. Now that I think of it, it was probably hilarious, but I was FAR from a laughing place. I was as mad as a hornet. Every time I would let go and he wouldn't even try I would feel like ripping my hair out. And saying every cuss word in the book. (Which I was doing. Under my breath. :))
So what did we do? We took away all electronics until he learned to ride. It sounds harsh, but he needs to learn for this summer so he can participate in neighborhood fun with his friends. He will thank us later! I don't want him to be the only one that cant go on a bike ride. I KNOW he can do it, so we took away all electronics thinking that he would really want to. We thought he would miss his DS, his Wii, the computer, or even the TV! Does he care? No. He hasn't asked to do any of those things even one time. He is content drawing and playing ball outside. Sigh. I give up.
Sooo, for my blood pressure's sake, I will not be participating in the bike lessons from here on out. It makes me a crazy person. Even thinking about it gets me all riled up. I think I will go drink my bottle of Zoloft now. AHHHHH!
Now that I got that off my chest (lol), not too much else has been going on. Mother's Day is this weekend so this week is busy, busy! Today was Muffins for Mom for Parker's class. Thursday I have a "Mother's Day Tea" for Jacob's class. And then of course I'm sure we will do something this weekend. I really want to go to the Gospel Brunch at The House of Blues down in Dallas (I have been wanting to do that for a long time), but when I tell Mike he says "yeah right". I think he thinks I am kidding! So Mike, if you are reading this (which he rarely does)....take the hint!!! I am not kidding!
So, see? Nothing much interesting to say over in this neck of the woods. I have done 5 loads of laundry today and am drying my 6th now. 7th is washing. I still have like 3 more, too. Sigh. Thank God it's Cinco de Mayo so I have a good excuse to crack open the Margarita Mix. Arriba!

Eden, 9 months
On a happier note, she is doing just great. She was up to par on everything at her appointment. She was
20 lbs 4 oz - 75%
27.3 inches - 50-60%
She has stayed 75% for weight since birth and 50-60ish% for height since birth. She is growing just perfectly on her curve. I think she looks so chubby because she is such a shorty...I have never had a child in the 50% for height! LOL
Here's her monthly pic.
Month 1
Month 2
Month 3
Month 4
Month 5
Month 6
Month 7
Month 8
Month 9
"Baby Girl is mean!"
All because of this "meanie". How dare she try to play Old Maid with Parker and "crumble them up"!!
She looks pretty threatening doesn't she!? ;)
But if I had these all over my body, I would be pretty sad, too.
Remember this happened a while ago when he had a reaction to Amoxicillin. This time he went to a friend's house and petted their cat (which is a miracle in and of itself...but that is for another post). They get worse and worse and last 4-7 days. This is only day 2! Will keep you posted. Funny enough though, Mike is allergic to all the 'Cillins' (medicines that is), and cats! Like Father, Like Son I guess.
***Oh, and yes, I know his undies are on backwards. He insists on wearing them that way. :)
